If you hire a Santiago campervan you just sarted your trip in the best way. If you want to stay near the capital, then you can go visit Paine and eat the best watermelons ever, then drive your campervan to Laguna de Aculeo, Isla de Pirque, Rio Clarillo or Yerba Loca National Sanctuary, all in the city area! You can look for the best ski slopes in Latin America: La Parva, El Colorado, Farellones and Valle Nevado or drive to the Maipo Valley, where you can visit Río Olivares Park Project; the biggest green area in Santiago.
Also, you can go to San Pedro de Atacama, but if it’s too far away, you can always go to La Serena and the Elqui Valley, on the way, visit Fray Jorge National Park and Valle Encantado National Park. Swim or sunbath on the beaches of Pichidangui or Los Vilos and eat all the seafood you can with a good glass of wine. Or, you can go in your Wicked Campervan to Valparaíso and enjoy the nightlife, colors and culture. On the road there go to La Campana National Park, visit Casablanca Valley (one of the Wine Routes) or go the other way to some of the best surf beaches, among them, the infamous Pichilemu.
If you choose to go south, first is to go to Siete Tazas National Reserve. On the way you can visit Chapa Verde ski center, and visit other national reserves like Los Cipreses, Los Queñes and Altos del Lircay, where you can camp and practice hiking, trekking, horseback riding, biking and much more sports!
Going farther south is Puerto Varas. On your way there you can go camping at beautiful places like Coñaripe, Panguipulli or Puerto Fuy, all next to each other and surrounded by nature at it’s most stunning expression. Again you can do trekking, flyfishing, horseback riding, cayaking, visit hotsprings, hikking and much more! You certainly can’t miss visiting Valdivia, Futrono, Lago Ranco, Entre Lagos and Puerto Octay. You’ll try some of the best chilean cuisine at Osorno, Frutillar and Puerto Varas.
